A compassionate, human-centered website for a suicide prevention and loss support organization. The visual system leans on a custom watercolor illustration style rather than clinical imagery, creating a calm, emotionally accessible experience that supports resources, education, and outreach for individuals, families, and communities.
The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Lehigh County serves individuals, families, and communities navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. The design challenge was significant: how do you create a visual experience that feels safe and welcoming — not clinical, not heavy — for people who may be in crisis or grief?
The answer was illustration. Rather than reaching for stock photography or generic iconography, the visual system was built around a custom watercolor illustration style that feels hand-made and human. Soft, organic shapes and a warm palette create a sense of calm without minimizing the seriousness of the mission.
The website was designed to guide visitors to the right resources quickly and without friction — clear wayfinding, accessible language, and a visual tone that communicates: you are not alone, and help is here.
